Orta Blu | Beyond Denim x Roark Event

ORTA (one of the world’s largest denim manufacturers) introduces ORTA BLU, their sustainability division in celebration of LA Market Week. Orta Blu collaborated with hip menswear label Roark for an event last night at the Roark compound in downtown Los Angeles. The event aimed to raise awareness on their global humanitarian and worldwide philanthropic initiatives, which aim to identify and address issues at the community level by leveraging environmental and sustainable technology solutions.

The partnership with Roark for the Orta Blu Gene Project is a clear example on how to achieve this; menswear label Roark have designed the jeans for the recent ‘Jeans and Pizza Exchange’ for the homeless youth of Covenant House of NY and LA; one of many “social missions” in which Orta Blu collaborate with NGO’s around the world, connecting communities and helping them solve each others problems in a ‘proactive and productive way’.

The event attracted many industry heavyweights along with Angeleno’s fashionista sect. Brooklyn band , ‘She Keeps Bees’ were flown in especially for the
event and were so well received that they treated the crowds to two
performances! And, fashion darling DJ AJ English played alongside renowned DJ Chris Holmes. Sponsors of the event included: Perrier Water, Veev Vodka, Silver Tequila and Heineken.
