British automotive manufacturer Lotus release a new trailer for its 2012 Exige S. The short film pits the 346 horsepower V6 hellion in a boxing match of intimidation and dueling egos. The Lotus 2012 Exige S was unveiled at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, and received an impressive interior/exterior makeover and styling overhaul as well as a boost to its under-the-hood performance. The 2012 Exige S comes with a 3.5 liter DOHC V6 with variable valve timing sourced from Toyota. To this is fitted a Harrop HTV 1320 Supercharger utilizing Eaton TVS technology that combines to produce 345 horsepower in a car weighing only 2,380 pounds.

The potent drive train is matched with a Lotus Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) system giving the driver three driving modes to switch between: Touring, Sport and DPM off. A Race Pack option adds a fourth mode – Race – as well as Launch Control. Keeping the 2012 Elise S planted to the road are Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires fitted as standard. All this is good for a zero to 60 miles per hour time of 3.8 seconds. Despite the commercial’s already mixed reviews, most would find it hard to disagree with the eloquent aesthetics and nimble performance of the Lotus 2012 Exige S.
